This Leica 35mm f2 Summicron v1 is the first generation of the famed 35mm f2 Summicron. It features an eight element lens design that is distinct from the later six and seven element designs. This lens is considered the highest resolving of the Summicron prior to the introduction of the aspheric versions. It is also noted for the focus tab having infinity lock. This lens comes from what some consider the peak of vintage Leica lens design.
This lens has the Leica M bayonet mount and is appropriate for M-mount rangefinders such as the Leica M3.
This version has the additional "goggles" designed to adapt Leica viewfinder windows that did not natively support 35mm focal lengths, such as the Leica M3.
